In October of 1996, a mutual friend introduced Matt Morse to Bob Gerlach, a local businessman who had started a small company manufacturing rope stakes, OB and hazard markers which he sold to Wisconsin area golf courses. Upon learning that the products were
made from recycled plastic, Morse began to visualize a wide array of distinctively stylish furnishings for golf courses made with this attractive and low maintenance material. His deep passion for golf was the driving force behind Morse’s mission to offer courses better furnishing solutions.

For many years, Morse’s love of the game fueled his interest to work in a golf-related field. It was this deep passion for golf that became the driving force behind Morse's mission to offer courses better furnishing solutions. In May of 1997, Morse began doing business as Great Lakes Golf Course Products. From a humble (750 sq. ft.) manufacturing area, Great Lakes expanded its offerings to over fifty selections and within the first year outgrew its original facility.

As sales of golf course products grew at a phenomenal pace, Morse ambitiously launched a second brand of recycled plastic furnishings
for additional market segments. Great Lakes Specialty Products
began in 2000 with a full line of furnishings targeted at park/recreation districts, camps, university campuses and attractions. This brand continues to thrive and their product line is also being requested from diverse markets ranging from zoos, to water parks to chain-system corporate accounts.

2007 has been a year of several significant changes. First, Great Lakes Golf Course Products has been renamed Prestwick Golf Group in order
to properly reflect the brand’s worldwide influence throughout the golf industry. Next, the company has launched another new brand Prestwick Limited, providing furnishing solutions for the hospitality industry’s luxury resorts, hotels, spas, casinos and cruise lines. The group of brands (along with Great Lakes Specialty Products) are collectively known as The Prestwick Group, Inc. Finally, due to its meteoric rise and projected growth, the company has relocated to a 60,000 sq. ft. manufacturing and headquarters facility in Oconomowoc, WI.

Established as the industry leader for quality, style, innovation and unparalleled customer service in each of its brands' respective markets, The Prestwick Group, Inc. is poised for continued growth for years
to come.
